Museum in Motion

The National Corvette Museum is unlike most other museums in the world. Though located in Bowling Green, Kentucky – the Museum is proud to have members from all across the country and even internationally. In an effort to bring the Museum to the enthusiasts, a selection of excursions are offered each year. Branded “Museum in Motion”, the program features tours around the United States as well as Canada, England and France. The Museum in Motion events combine the fun of driving, socializing with other Corvette enthusiasts, sightseeing and visiting unique places – including many V.I.P. and behind the scenes opportunities that only the Museum can get you.

Past tours have taken participants into places not usually accessible to the public including Milford Proving Grounds, Consumer Reports Auto Test Division, GM Heritage Center, and Pratt & Miller.

Museum in Motion Dragon Run

Presented by Michelin

September 7th – september 10th

**Following the Biltmore Estates and consulting North Carolina’s government policies on reopening, the National Corvette Museum has decided to reschedule the MiM Tail of the Dragon to September 7th – September 10th.**

If you have any questions or would like to register please contact Bryce or Maci

Fall in the Smokies, Tail of the Dragon and Biltmore all combined in one great MiM tour. Once again we hit the road, leaving Bowling Green and heading East to run the famous TN-129, aka Tail of the Dragon. This year again, we will be staying at the beautiful Biltmore Inn on the Biltmore Estate grounds. The Tuesday Biltmore visit includes a specially arranged early morning photo op of the cars in front of the manor house followed by breakfast in the Biltmore Stable Café adjacent to the house. This Museum in Motion will include a specialty tour at the Biltmore. We will not know any information about this tour until the end of the year. Biltmore has been making a couple of changes to their tours and will let us know the available tours once they have been finalized. Lunch will be at the Deer Park Restaurant on the grounds. After hours – enjoy a special private guided tour of the Mansion. New friends will be made while enjoying one of the most beautiful areas of the country during the colorful fall season. GPS as well as two-way radios highly recommended!

The two organizations join together to raise money for both the Museum and Trooper Island, a KSP non-profit camp for underprivileged children. Each year the tour explores a different section of Kentucky. As always, the tour will be led by a Kentucky State Trooper, now using a marked Kentucky State Police Gray Corvette which is sure to attract attention as the caravan travels through an area of real Americana.

Tour of J. Spanky Bunch Art Gallery

Josh grew up in Williamsburg, KY, in a community known as “Slabtown”. He received the nickname, “Spanky” while participating in Little League Baseball, due to his strong resemblance to the character on “The Little Rascals”, and the nickname stuck. Much, of Josh’s artwork, expresses a deep seeded sentimentality, for having grown up in small town, KY. Consistent themes in his artwork, concern his spirituality, his interest in music, and his passionate interpretation of Eastern KY living.

Visitors to the area have gotten a thrill walking across the landmark 30-foot wide natural sandstone arch for well over a century.
